December 9, 2015 To Whom It May Concern: I am the Editor of the “Standup Journal” and I have witnessed the continued growth of Paddle to the Core from Las Vegas since their beginning in 2010. Kathy Holesapple is an innovator and an exceptional visionary when it comes to her business. She has brought Standup Paddle to Las Vegas and has been a true champion for her destination. We have watched her grow and develop her programs as well as invigorate the industry with her constant drive for unique ways to continued growth in non-coastal area. Standup Paddle began in the Oceans and coastal cities and was not considered to be a “flat water” sport but Kathy kept proving to us that the market was leading to a flat water revolution and soon we watched as it spread across the country. Paddle to the Core has been very influential in the growth of flat water paddle and it’s because of an innovative and determined business owner who was not going to let SUP pass her by. In fact: Kathy was the first to publish a Standup Paddle Wedding and hosted the 2013 WPA world paddle Championships. She was also one of the earliest Standup Paddle Yoga enthusiasts and has inspired many “Yogi’s” to take it to the board. Kathy was given a two page spread in our Spring 2012 issue featuring one of our photographers and close friends “Glenn Dubock” who chose her destination as his favorite place to paddle, mentioning Kathy specifically as the “reason” why he loved SUP in Las Vegas. We believe in those who have championed our sport and have helped launch it into the “Fastest Growing Sport in the World” and Kathy is definitely one of those Champions. We stand behind her wherever she goes and encourage her to never give up because she is a Standup Paddle Champion taking it to the next level every chance she gets. I love the sport of Stand Up Paddle (SUP) as I have been addicted to it since my first time on the waves, in early 2009. My life was truly changed by the discovery of this wonderful sport they called "SUP". I heard the call of an Entrepreneurship, when I realized that this sport could change lives. It changed my life and gave me a desire to get up in the morning and do something that gave me peace but offered a healthy alternative to working out that was fun and new. After a winter of learning how to SUP Surf, I decided to take it to Las Vegas and introduce it to the locals. I met the only guy I could find that had a board. His name was David I believe now that it was a calling from God to open Paddle to the Core. He picked the name and gave me an awesome logo which I paid $27.00 dollars for from Office Max..on July 4th 2010 we opened our first board shop in "The Village" at Lake Las Vegas. It was an instant hit and I was not ready for the abundant blessing that was heading my way. I did not know Jesus and I did not believe in any religion or have any spirituality.
